Thames View from the top of St Pauls by Graeme Lothian.
Built by Sir Christopher Wren in 1675 and finished 35 years later to replace the earlier one which was destroyed by fire in 1666. Its 365 foot high dome is only slightly smaller than St Peters in Rome. Viewed from the top looking west one can see the bend in the River Thames. Below is Blackfriars Bridge, opened by Queen Victoria in 1869. The south bank view includes the Royal Festival Hall and Oxo Tower complexs. In the distance Waterloo Bridge and Charing Cross railway station can be viewed as can the London Eye and parts of the Houses of Parliament.
